SUNTRANS is a Europe-wide project bringing clean, smart solar power to urban transport. Our goal is to help cities and operators cut emissions by integrating Vehicle Integrated Photovoltaics (VIPV), high-efficiency power electronics, and AI-driven fleet management into electric buses and last-mile delivery vehicles.

We are developing new curved, colored, and semi-transparent solar modules made to withstand real operating conditions—vibration, UV exposure, and harsh weather. Paired with advanced power converters working at over 98% efficiency, these systems boost vehicle range and reduce energy costs.

SUNTRANS will test its solutions in three pilot sites—Izmir (Türkiye), Alba Iulia (Romania), and Bilbao (Spain)—covering different climates and mobility needs. An AI platform will coordinate solar charging, route planning, and smart interaction with the grid, helping operators cut costs by up to 30%.
