H2TRADIS
H2TRADIS is an industrial research project developing an advanced digital ecosystem to optimise the transport and smart distribution of renewable hydrogen, with the aim of turning this energy carrier into a pillar of sustainable urban mobility and industrial decarbonisation.
The project is structured around three lines of work: the development of a smart and safe hydrogen transport and distribution system; a digital logistics platform combining advanced modelling and artificial intelligence to optimise hydrogen sourcing, storage and distribution; and a novel “swapping” (tank exchange) system designed for urban mobility applications.
Coordinated by Esergui, H2TRADIS brings together a consortium of companies and accredited members of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network (RVCTI) covering the entire value chain, and will run for 34 months, until 2028. The Cluster leads the project’s communication and dissemination activities.
Project funded by the Department of Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability of the Basque Government (Hazitek 2026 programme) and co-funded by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF 2021-2027).
H2TRADIS is part of the Transformative Project “Hub de Combustibles Renovables” (Renewable Fuels Hub).
